My research is in the area of synthetic organic chemistry, in particular in the development of new synthetic methodology, fluorous chemistry and photochemistry. An important objective of my research program is to train undergraduate students in conducting research and writing competent research reports and proposals.

I teach Honors Organic Chemistry 1 and 2, Honors Biochemistry 1 and occasionally higher level courses such as Honors Chemistry of Natural Products and Honors History and Philosophy of Chemistry.

I have an interest in arts particularly in drawing and sketching. I do my own illustrations for my textbooks and lecture materials.
