Florida Atlantic: Thriving for and with Our Students
Established in 1961, Florida Atlantic University (FAU) officially opened in 1964 as the state’s fifth public university. Today, we serve more than 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students across six campuses throughout the southeast Florida coast. We’re also proud to be ranked as a top 100 public university by U.S. News and World Report.
In recent years, we’ve doubled our research expenditures. This investment in research has led Florida Atlantic to become one of only 21 schools in the U.S. to earn both R1 and Opportunity College and University designations by the Carnegie Classifications.
We’ve also outpaced our peers in student achievement rates. Our students are bold, ambitious and ready to take on the world.
