Apply for On-Campus Housing
Welcome to FAU Housing
Important Dates for Applying
- October 1, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.: The housing application for Spring 2026 opens through the Housing portal. The Spring 2026 housing application will close once spaces have been filled. We anticipate a high demand for spring-only housing with limited availability. Due to the high demand for housing, the Housing Portal may exceed the number of allocated users at 9:00 a.m. on October 1. If you cannot complete a housing application, you may add yourself to the Housing Interest form. The Housing Interest form will be available in the Housing Portal after the housing application closes. Students who complete the Housing Interest form will receive an email notification in December if we anticipate that we can accommodate them with on-campus housing.

Important Tips for New Students
- Spaces are limited and fill up quickly, we encourage all students to apply early.
- Housing placement is prioritized to students who complete an application by the March 20 priority date for the Fall 2026 – Spring 2027 housing application.
- There are fewer single rooms than double rooms. We cannot guarantee single rooms for everyone who makes the request. The earlier you complete your housing application, the better your chances will be to get your preferred or room type.
- The housing application covers only the term you apply for, as an example Fall 2026 – Spring 2027 is an academic year application for both semesters. Summer is a separate application. You are responsible for the term of the application.
- Students living in residence halls are required to participate in the Campus Meal Plan Program. For information, please visit our Dining Services page.
- If you plan to request housing accommodations/modifications due to a disability, you must apply with Student Accessibility Services (SAS). You must apply with SAS for a housing modification or accommodations by May 1 for Summer, June 1 for Fall and November 1 for Spring.
- The deadline for first time in college students to request a roommate is May 1. Requests are completed through the Roommate Request page of the Fall 2026 – Spring 2027 housing application.
- Roommate requests take priority over room type preferences (i.e. single room). Roommate matching is not guaranteed; however, we will make every attempt to match roommates that are mutually requested by May 1. The date your housing application is completed, and Orientation Reservation, is a consideration when matching roommates.
- Returning students who participate in the housing contract renewal process may preference roommates and suitemates only during renewal process.
- Roommate groups may be groups of 2, 3 or 4 students.
Prospective Jupiter Campus Residents
Because the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College regards the residential education experience as a central component of its student development mission, all first year admitted students at the Wilkes Honors College are required to live on-campus and purchase a meal plan for their first and second year unless they meet one or more of the following criteria.
- 24 years of age or older
- Married
- Parents of dependent children
- U.S. military veterans, honorably discharged
Transfer students entering the Wilkes Honors College with a fully completed associate of arts degree or who have completed two years of college previously, which they pursued after high school.
Transfer students who have completed one year of college are required to live on campus for one year. Spring transfer students who have only completed one semester of college are required to live on campus for three semesters.
Students who wish to be exempt should apply for an exemption by July 1 for fall and December 1 for spring. Students with a medical condition, as certified by a licensed physician, making it impossible for them to live on campus, should provide documentation to the Housing Appeals Committee Requests for exemption will be heard by the Housing appeals committee. All decisions of the committee shall be considered final. Once the contract is signed and the academic year has begun, an exemption will not be granted, nor will the contract be canceled for this purpose.
