Affiliate Resources
Research FAQs
Affiliate faculty are encouraged to mentor students, residents, and fellows in research, as well as collaborate with employed FAU faculty. Faculty members who are involved in research, affiliate and employed, may be listed in our Research Faculty Directory. Affiliate faculty collaborating with medical students or residents/fellows should obtain approval through College of Medicine's Office of Student Affairs or from the respective program director. Affiliate faculty engaging in research are responsible for familiarizing themselves with and abiding by all relevant FAU research policies.
Affiliate faculty may serve as co-investigators (Co-I) on studies in collaboration with an FAU-employed faculty member serving as Principal Investigator (PI). Affiliate faculty may not serve as PI on protocols submitted to the FAU IRB per the Division of Research Principal Investigator Eligibility policy. Under special circumstances, affiliate faculty may serve as PI with approval from FAU's Vice President for Research.
Affiliate faculty members have access to university resources as described in this document. Affiliate faculty do not have access to FAU space or staff for research purposes, except when working with an FAU-employed faculty member or under special circumstances outlined above.
