Online Tutoring

Hero2

In collaboration with the Center for Online and Continuing Education, the MLC offers free eTutoring for FAU students enrolled in some of FAU's most difficult online math courses. The Center for Online and Continuing Education at FAU is committed to increasing access to education, improving student learning outcomes, and holding instructional costs constant or reducing them through effective technology-enabled course redesigns.

We update our online tutoring program each semester to help meet the needs of our diverse student population. Currently, our eTutoring services are offered through Zoom.  We strive to deliver optimal services in the online environment, and thus all of our online tutors are extensively trained, working towards CRLA certification, and have also passed a course-based math exam to demonstrate subject-area mastery.

Our Spring 2026 online tutoring services begin Monday, January 12, 2026, and run through Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

All online tutoring sessions are drop-in via Zoom and follow a consistent weekly schedule (see below or on FAU's tutoring platform).

Feel free to drop by to study and simply raise your hand virtually when you need assistance.

Small-Group Tutoring Policy

Students may make a maximum of two appointments per week for any course they are currently enrolled in (that is available).

Each in-person session will be 50 minutes in length, maximum three students per session.

Cancellation Policy: If you cannot make a scheduled appointment, please cancel your own appointment in TutorTrac no less than 2 hours prior to your appointment (or it will be considered a no-show).

No-Show Policy: Missing an appointment without canceling is called a no-show. No- shows impact the tutors who anticipate your appointment as well as a student who could have been scheduled in the spot you missed. If, in one semester, you accumulate THREE no-shows, your ability to schedule small group tutoring appointments will be suspended for the remainder of the term. If your privileges are suspended, you may continue to utilize the Math Learning Center, but on ONLINE only.
